Proof Sites
EverGraze Proof Sites are experimental sites testing innovative grazing and livestock production systems to determine their impact on environmental outcomes and farm profitability.
Proof Sites are investigating:
- using more summer active perennials
- grazing management to enhance desirable native species and increase ground cover
- integrating native and introduced perennials into farming systems
- perennial hedges (shrubs, tall wheat grass) to improve lamb survival
- rotational grazing systems to improve biodiversity and pasture production
- high fecundity merinos for lamb production.
At Proof Sites detailed measurements of soils, pastures, animals and environmental impacts (such as water quality, biodiversity and soil health) are being taken to better understand how the new systems will work.
