Production and Environmental Challenges

The challenge is to increase the proportion of summer active perennial species to reduce recharge and salinity. At the same time, these pastures will reduce the need for supplementary feeding over summer and autumn.

Innovation being tested:

Kikuyu and clover pasture sown in spring 2007

Base pasture:

The kikuyu pasture will be compared with an adjacent paddock that contain annual pasture species.

Animal systems:

sahde
