The challenge in this catchment is to increase pasture productivity while at the same time overcoming major environmental challenges including flooding, surface water run-off, groundwater recharge, sedimentation, excessive nutrients in water, and wind erosion.

Innovation being tested:

• Use older stand of Chicory as a control and Chicory/ Gatton Panic paddock as the innovative paddock.
• Re-seed Innovation paddock.
• Investigate cell grazing options.
• Investigate techniques for encouraging recruitment of new chicory plants through managed seeding
