Production and Environmental Challenges

Improve the productivity of an existing phalaris pastures and reduce the amount of annual species in the pasture.

Innovation being tested:

  • Use of rotation grazing keeping pastures between 4-10 cm
  • Appropriate fertilizer and lime applications based on soil test results

Base pasture:

A productive phalaris pasture with sub-clover. Annual weeds include cape weed and Erodium. Paddock has good fertilizer history.
